The potential of three molecules NH 4 NO 2 , H O and 3 to ignite aqueous solutions ammonia (25% by mass) as fuel, was investigated using chemical kinetic simulations at conditions representative a two-stroke marine diesel engine. purpose address two the most prominent issues with making practical fuel for applications: difficulty igniting ammonia, safety concerns regarding its volatility toxicity. ignition carried out this end used two-zone reactor model engine, representing zone into which injected, bulk cylinder gases, respectively. results suggested that all improving were able reliably high combustion efficiency acceptable levels NO, N emissions. Among formulations investigated, 12% solution mass, promised lowest emissions in exhaust gases. This improver added mole fraction 0.15 0.85 having an 25% mass be solution, since it is stable can stored safely separate tank until injected
